HBP Student Representative Ingrid Reiten (University of Oslo) hosted this first HBP Tea & Slides 40-minute-long session that was attended by 61 participants, 32 of those were affiliated to the HBP while 25 came from outside the Project (the remainder wasn’t sure about their affiliation to the Project).

The first HBP Tea & Slides consisted of talks by Alice Geminiani (University of Pavia) and Jens E. Pedersen (KTH Stockholm). Alice introduced the world of the cerebellum, showing how data-driven models of the cerebellar circuit can elucidate the neural bases of motor learning and explain disease mechanisms. Jens presented how we can exploit the growing knowledge within both neuroscience and computer science to train brain-inspired control systems on neuromorphic hardware. The talks were followed by short Q&A sessions with participants.

HBP Tea & Slides aims to enable early career researchers from the HBP to present their research and make themselves visible to other (early career) researchers within and outside the HBP. At the same time, participants can watch presentations of others, learn about their projects and meet potential future collaborators.  

The next HBP Tea & Slides will take place on Thursday, 7 May 2020 at 2pm (CEST).

Interested students from the HBP who want to present their research during HBP Tea & Slides should send an email to education@humanbrainproject.eu no later than 29 April 2020 stating

• Name
• University or Institution affiliated to 
• Field of study
• Involvement in HBP (Work package?)
• Title of talk + short description of the content (2-3 sentences)
• Agree or disagree for online presentation to be recorded (Important: check if you have the property rights for information on your slides!)
