HBP Lab visit opportunities

    22 September 2017

Lab visits are an opportunity for young sientists to develop new technical or conceptual expertise.

The HBP Education Programme is compiling a growing directory of lab visit opportunities offered by HBP partners. These lab visits are an opportunity for young scientists to develop new technical or conceptual expertise for implementation in research as well as their home institute's research programme.

Information on vacancies and contact details for the lab visits are publicly available on the HBP Education website: https://education.humanbrainproject.eu/web/lab-visits. Applications are handled directly by the hosting laboratories (see below if you are interested in hosting a lab visit).

    Target group:

Master students already carrying out research
    PhD students
Researchers who have received their doctoral degree within the past three years at the time of their application for training

Support by the HBP Education Programme Office:

The HBP Education Programme Office offers financial support to students in the form of travel grants. A limited number of grants is available upon written request sent to education@humanbrainproject.eu prior to the lab visit. A confirmation of acceptance by the host laboratory has to be included in the request. Only lab visits completed by 31 March 2018 are eligible for funding.

The HBP Education Programme will support students who:

    • work for an HBP partner institution and want to visit an HBP laboratory other than their own
    • work for an HBP partner institution and want to visit an external laboratory in Europe or overseas
    • work in Europe, but not for an HBP partner institution, and want to visit an HBP partner laboratory

Laboratory expenses will be covered by the host lab.

If you are interested in offering lab visits, please fill out the HBP Lab visit opportunities form:
