Calls for Expression of Interest for SGA3
09 July 2020
The Human Brain Project (HBP) launches four Calls for Expression of Interest (CEoIs) for new projects to directly contribute to the development of the research infrastructure (EBRAINS) and increase the scope of its application in terms of innovation, neuroscience and clinical research.
The following Calls for Expression of Interest (CEoI) will be opened soon:
Brain Atlas and simulation engine adapter construction
A Call for Expression of Interest (CEoI) for experts in computer engineering and software development interested in contributing to the building of one of the largest computational infrastructures in Europe dedicated to neuroscience.
Budget: EUR 450,000 Direct Costs (plus 25% Indirect Costs). One proposal will be selected.
Application of functional architectures supporting advanced cognitive functions to address AI problems of industrial relevance
A Call for Expression of Interest (CEoI) for organisations interested in the application of functional architectures to address AI and automation problems of industrial and commercial relevance, with special emphasis on vision.
Budget: EUR 1,000,000 Direct Costs. Maximum funding per proposal: EUR 500,000 (plus 25% Indirect Costs). Two proposals will be selected.
High-level neuro-symbolic processing for guidance of goal-directed behaviour
A Call for Expression of Interest (CEoI) for cognitive neuroscientists, researchers in learning theory, Artificial Intelligence, and neurorobotics interested in developing neural network models of working memory and selective attention for temporary information processing and guidance of goal-directed behaviour.
Budget: EUR 450,000 Direct Costs (plus 25% Indirect Costs). One proposal will be selected.
Industry Engagement
A Call for Expression of Interest (CEoI) for companies, most notably SMEs and technology-based start-ups, operating in the field of digital neurosciences interested in the development of tools and services for the shared EBRAINS digital brain Research Infrastructure (RI).
Budget: EUR 1,000,000 Direct Costs. Maximum funding per proposal: EUR 250,000 (plus 25% Indirect Costs). Four proposals will be selected.
